Best 9 Acupressure Points to Relieve Stress and Anxiety

Today majority of the work is computer centric, demanding us to sit on our desk glued to the screen for 8-9 hours at a stretch that is not only affecting our eyes and spinal column, but also our brain. People often complain of stiffness in the back, particularly neck and shoulder and acute headache during the late afternoon when work pressure is at its peak. Adding to this is the pressure to meet family commitments, paying bills and achieving work deadlines all of which creates immense pressure and stress that leads to more serious problems like disturbed sleep, chest pains, depression, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes and many more. But Reflexology it one such simple yet effective therapy that you can practice by yourself to heal all these problems.

Stretching and Breathing Exercises to Prepare the Body for Acupressure:

In order to stimulate and energize the body, the receiver should practice these simple stretching and breathing exercises before proceeding with the acupressure session.

  • Sit cross legged on the floor and take three deep breaths as if it is originating from the navel. This will help in energizing the body and free it of all thoughts and worries.
  • Stand straight and stretch your hands up over your head while inhaling and slowly stretch the body backward as far as possible without hurting yourself, hold the posture for 3 seconds.
  • Exhale as you come back to the previous posture, bend forward and try to touch the floor. Hold this position for 3 seconds.
  • Inhale as you come back to the starting posture. Keeping your hands raised, bent to your left side while exhaling. Hold this position for 3 seconds.
  • Inhale as you straighten your body. Now lean towards your right while exhaling. Hold the posture for 3 seconds.
  • Straighten your body and come back to the starting posture. Repeat this whole sequence 3 times.

9 Acupressure Points to Relieve Anxiety and Stress:

Three Mile Point– This point is located two finger width below the knee cap and four finger widths towards the outside region of the leg. Applying pressure at this point increases and regulates energy flow, relieves fatigue and helps in increasing concentration. Apply pressure for 1 minute and move to the next point.

Appendix pain Point 2

Great Rushing– This point is located in the webbing between the big and the second toe. Applying pressure on this point helps in unblocking the choked meridians and maintaining smooth flow of energy through the meridians.

Feet Pressure Points to Control Diabetes

Grandfather-Grandson– This point is located at the side of the inside of the foot, three finger width behind the base of the big toe. Applying pressure at this point helps all-round nourishment and balanced circulation of energy throughout body and mind, helps in relieving the mind from worries and anxiety. In addition it also helps relieve ankle pains.


Inner Gate– If you draw a straight line on your palm starting between your index and middle finger and straight through your arm, this point will lie on this line 3 finger widths above the wrist crease. Applying pressure on this point helps in protecting the heart from excess stress, encourages deep breathing and relieves nausea.


Outer Gate– This point is located on the back side of the arm 3 finger widths above the wrist, between the two tendons. Stimulating this point helps in supporting the immune function and increases energy flow through the body.

Union Valley– This point is located in the webbing between the thumb and the index finger. Stimulating this point helps in reducing muscle tension and relieving stress.

Chest pain point 1

Central Treasury– This point is located two finger widths above the point where yours arms meet your chest. Stimulating this point helps in beep breathing, increasing blood flow and balancing the emotions.

Will’s Chamber– This point is located at the mid-section of your waist, about 3 finger widths away from the spine. Stimulating this point helps in distributing energy flow through all meridians, strengthen the whole body and relieve back tension.

Shoulder Well– This point is located at the ridge of the Shoulder halfway between the point of your shoulder and the base of your neck. Stimulating this point helps in relieving stress and tension and unhindered flow of energy.

Dear Bipasha,

I go through immense stress which ruins my family as well as especially professional life.

These stress start from Money , work , & seniors of work place.

I don’t wear any ring or Any Astro things so far.

I m very very straigh forward man , if something is wrong I won’t think about future consequence will directly stop it….
